2018-2023: The programmes we ran

Social Clubs

Social Clubs

Liverpool Cares' group activities took place several times a week and offered a chance for older and younger neighbours to share time, laughter and new experiences that helped everyone to feel a part of our rapidly-changing city, rather than left behind by it. Clubs during week days, evenings and weekends included dance parties, new technology workshops, 'back to work' business visits, choirs, games nights, pub clubs, podcast clubs and more.

Love Your Neighbour

Love Your Neighbour

Love Your Neighbour was a friendship programme bringing older and younger neighbours together to spend a little time one-to-one. Intergenerational friends enjoyed a cup of tea and a natter about all sorts – from work to relationships to days gone by – and built deep mutual friendships over time that helped bring a little of the outside world in for neighbours who struggled to get out.

Outreach

Outreach

Liverpool Cares' pro-active outreach work harnessed the time and connections of local people and community partners to identify and introduce older neighbours to the network. We worked with a range of organisations - from pubs to supermarkets to GP surgeries - who referred people at risk of isolation or experiencing it to our programmes. We also attended local events to showcase our activities.

Community Fundraising

Community Fundraising

Our programme of exciting challenges, events, corporate partnerships and digital campaigns offered another way for older and younger neighbours to come together while raising money to fund the community they loved. Fundraising gave everyone a stake in Liverpool Cares' activities, and created fresh camaraderie and fun.
