2021 may not have started out how we wanted, but we've got loads of entertaining virtual social clubs happening over on zoom that will help you stay connected to your neighbours during this lockdown!
Whether it's staying active at a World Dance Class, travelling across the globe for a Virtual Tour of the Sistine Chapel, or just getting cosy and watching a good movie together at Film Club, we're sure there's something for everyone this month. Let's have a look at what we have coming up!
💻 Monday 1st February, 1:00pm-2:30pm: Movies, music and memories
Come together on zoom to discuss old video clips of the North, this is the perfect club to share stories with neighbours about the concerts you’ve been to, what your school days were like, where you've worked and more.
💻 Thursday 4th February, 6:00pm-7:15pm: Dance workshop with Movema
We're joining forces with Movema for this World Dance session, right from the comfort of your home! Themed as a 'Celebration of Life', the session will explore and celebrate a range of dance styles from around the world, not forgetting time to catch up and connect with one another.
💻 📞 Monday 8th February, 1:00pm-2:00pm: Shared Reading
In this club, you’ll come together to read short stories and poems aloud as a group, and analyse the text, sharing what you like and dislike about the story, what you think will happen next, how it made you feel and more!
💻 Wednesday 10th February, 6:00pm-7:30pm: Pub Quiz Night
We’ll do our best to recreate a traditional pub quiz, so have your favourite drink ready and we’ll provide the questions and put you into quiz teams with your neighbours - all you need is a pen and paper for your answers!
💻 📞 Friday 12th February, 6:00pm-7:00pm: Desert Island Discs
Like the radio show of its namesake, come with a song in mind and the reason behind why you picked it. This month’s theme is “pal-entines”, we want songs about friendship! Share your song with the group and we will play it out loud for everyone to listen to.
💻 Monday 15th February, 2:00pm-3:00pm: Tour of the Sistine Chapel
If you’ve always wanted to visit the Sistine Chapel, or if you’ve been before and want another look, join us for this virtual tour and learn all about the history of the famously beautiful chapel.
💻 Thursday 18th February, 6:00pm-7:00pm: Family Fortunes
Yes, we’re going to recreate another TV game show - this time it’s Family Fortunes! Volunteer Danny is going to be your host, asking the questions and finding out what the “survey says”! Will it be correct or will you hear the dreaded “EH UHHH”?
📞 Friday 19th February, 3:00pm-4:00pm: Over-The-Phone Quiz
What could be better than an afternoon quiz to keep your brain ticking over? We team you up with other neighbours so you can take on the quiz together.
💻 📞 Thursday 25th February, 6:30pm-7:30pm: The Cares Family Disco
Put on your party outfit and dancing shoes, and join your neighbours from across the UK at The Cares Family disco! Once a month, we join forces with our sibling charities in London and Manchester for a massive party and a good old boogie together!
💻 Friday 26th February, 5:30pm-7:30pm: Film Club
Get cosy, we’re going to watch a film together! On the night there’ll be a choice of films and you can vote for the one you want to watch. There’ll be time at the end to chat about whether you liked it or not, who was your favourite and least favourite character and your favourite parts!
If you haven't already, click here to head over to our website to sign up to volunteer, and we will get in touch with next steps. See you on zoom!
