👥 Saturday 9th October, 1.5 hour slots between 1:00pm - 4:30pm: Paul’s Pub Quiz, The Denbigh Castle Pub, 10 Hackins Hey (off Dale Street), City Centre, L2 2AW

Older neighbour Paul has written a quiz for you all, so dust off your thinking caps and come along to test your general knowledge! Everyone that comes along will get a free drink at the pub, too. What more could you want?

👥 Tuesday 12th October, 6:00pm - 8:00pm: Board games, cuppa and catch up, Kitty’s Launderette, 77 Grasmere Street, Everton, L5 6RH

Game of scrabble anyone? Come along to this fabulous community space for a couple of hours to play some board games and have a good catch up with your neighbours.

👥 Monday 18th October, 6:30pm - 8:00pm: Introduction to composting with ‘Compost Works’, The Watering Can cafe, 64 Greenbank Road, Greenbank Park, L18 1HQ

Ever wondered what composting is, how to get started and what you can and can’t compost? Fantastic local organisation ‘Compost Works’ are going to give us an introduction to the world of composting, and are here to answer all of your questions. They’ll even take us into the park to show us one of their ‘community compost’ projects, where members of the public can share a big compost bin!

👥 Saturday 23rd October, 1.5 hour slots between 1:30pm - 5:00pm: Technology support, Quaker Meeting House, 22 School Lane, City Centre, L1 3BT

Would you like to be better at texting, emailing or googling? Or maybe you have a laptop lying round that you’ve never used, and you’d like a bit of help getting started. Or maybe you're a younger neighbour who wants to offer up some help! Come along to this club, and we will pair up older and younger neighbours who can give each other a bit of help and advice.

👥 Monday 25th October, 4:30pm - 6:00pm: Poetry Workshop, Bean There Coffee Shop, 376 Smithdown Road, Wavertree, L15 5AN

It’s Black History Month, so we’re using this time to celebrate some creative works by black poets from across the world, from times gone by right up until the present day. Don’t worry if you’re not a poet, this is for complete beginners. We’ll read some poetry together and discuss the work, before having a go at writing our own.

👥 Tuesday 26th October, 7:00pm - 9:00pm: Liverpool Cares’ birthday party - singalong special, Blackburne Arms Pub, 24 Catharine Street, Georgian Quarter, L8 7NL

It’s our 3rd birthday! Come along to this lovely cosy pub to celebrate 3 years of friendship and fun. There’ll be music, cake and loads of people to chat to. This evening also includes the return of Jez, our fantastic pianist, who will be playing some Singalong classics for everyone to enjoy! Who’ll be the first one up dancing? We can’t wait to see you there. If you’re not sure how to get there, we can get the bus from the city centre together, just give Abbie a call to organise it!

💻 📞 Thursday 7th October, 6:00pm - 7:30pm: Quiz night

Join over the phone or on zoom for this fun-filled quiz evening! Test your general and musical knowledge with the rest of your neighbours, all you need is a pen and paper for your answers! Who knows you might just win a speedboat or a carriage clock...

💻 📞 Tuesday 19th October, 1:00pm - 2:00pm: Shared reading

In this club, you’ll come together to read short stories and poems aloud as a group, and analyse the text, sharing what you like and dislike about the story, what you think will happen next, how it made you feel and more! If you want to join in with this club, let Abbie know and she will send you out the stories and poems in the post. You can also join this club using your landline for free - call Abbie if you’d like to know how!

💻 📞 Wednesday 27th October, 6:00pm - 7:30pm: Desert island discs

Like the radio show of its namesake, come with a song in mind and the reason behind why you picked it. This month’s theme is Black History Month. We want your favourite songs by influential black artists from around the world! Share your song with the group and we will play it out loud for everyone to listen to. Please have a think and let Abbie know what song you’d like so she can create the playlist ready to be DJ for the night! If you have a landline or mobile you can also join this for free - call us and ask us how if you’re interested.

💻 📞 Thursday 28th October, 6:00pm-7:00pm: The Cares Family Disco, Liverpool and East London Cares birthday special!

It's Liverpool Cares' 3rd birthday and East London Cares' 2nd birthday, so come together to celebrate with neighbours from up and down the country at The Cares Family disco! We'll be spinning tracks from famous artists who come from Liverpool and East London, you just need to turn up (virtually) and show us your moves!

If you're over 65 and want to join in with any of these clubs, give Abbie a call on 0151 659 1789 and press option 2 to book a space. If you're a younger neighbour, you can sign up in the usual way using the link we sent to your email address. If you're not a part of Liverpool Cares yet and would like to join in, follow this link!
