2019 was a truly amazing year for Liverpool Cares. Not only did we see the growth of our network to over 700 older and younger neighbours, we felt the overwhelming generosity of the whole community thanks to the abundance of donations throughout the year.
To kick-off, a massive thank you must go to our first ever group of community fundraisers, Liverpool NCS group 6 (Above), who raised £544.56 with a bake sale and raffle in Allerton in mid-July.
Then, at the end of August, brave and fearless fundraising hero Danny dusted off his bike to complete a 298-mile Cycle challenge.
You can check out his blog here.
In August, we also did our first team challenge and abseiled Liverpool Cathedral. 19 fundraising heroes scaled 150ft of the iconic building to be greeted by blustery winds and the rain. A staggering £5,731.58 was raised to help Liverpool Cares tackle isolation and loneliness in the city.
In October we celebrated our first birthday – and what a night that was. Not only did you raise an amazing £566.00 but older, younger and new neighbours also made wonderful memories together to cherish for years to come. (Image-below left)
In November we received a donation from Quilter Cheviot. We look forward to welcoming their wonderful team to our events across 2020.

Finally, the cup of generosity overflowed in December. HMRC chose us to be the beneficiaries of their Christmas fair bingo and raffle. Thank you to Jennifer and her team who raised £523.00.
Our younger neighbour, Bronagh, kindly nominated us to receive the proceeds of Moels Cop secondary school's Enterprise Initiative Project over the festivities. We were chuffed to be invited to the Year 9 assembly on 29th January, where the total of £985.44 revealed. Thank you for your kindness.
Our fantastic friends over at the Bluecoat school donated £357.24 from their carol service. Thank you for your continued love and support.
And to our dashing Santa's who ran 5k and who raised £2918.44 – you're our heroes! What a wolf pack!
As a small charity, we rely heavily on the generosity of the community to help make Liverpool Cares sustainable well into the future. Thank you to everyone who supported us in 2019.
